Kalahari Adventure - Desert Tours - 4x4 Safaris - South Africa Travel - Upington - Northern Cape

Day 7: We drive back to Kaa where we can enjoy a proper shower. We then drive of course 4x4, along the Park border southwards to Mabuasehube Game Reserve.  On the edge of a huge salt pan we set up camp for the next 2 nights. Maybe we can look forward to discover a big herd of eland antelope today.
Overnight stay: Camping Mabuasehube Game Reserve (water available)
Meals: Full board

Day 8: While enjoying breakfast, we'll have a view of the nearby waterhole where animals will be coming and going. After breakfast we will undertake a safari drive to one of the nearby saltpans. Like every other day we'll enjoy introducing you to the secrets of the Bushmen's healing plants when we find something interesting. Break in the afternoon. We go on a game drive in the evening. Enjoy supper around the fire under the magnificent African stars and listen to what's going on in nature around us.
Overnight stay: Camping at Mabuasehube Game Reserve (water available)
Meals: Full board

Day 9: On the 4x4 trail we drive through Mabuasehube into the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. There is no fence separating the two Parks, therefore game can move freely between the two Parks.  About halfway, at Matopi, we set up our camp in the middle of nowhere.
Overnight stay: Camping at Matopi (limited water)
Meals: Full board

Day 10:  Today we cover the second part of the trail which is in my opinion is the more beautiful, but also the more difficult, part of the 4 x 4 trail.  We pass over many sanddunes through beautiful terrain before reaching the main gravel road at Nossob dry river bed after 100 kilometres. Nearby is camp Nossob where we’ll set up camp on the fully equipped campsite.  This is also our first filling station in many days.
Overnight stay: Camping at Nossob Camp (fully equipped)
Meals: Full board

Day 11:  During the night maybe the roar of a lion from the nearby water hole will wake you (Nossob is lion territory!) Before breakfast on our early morning drive we would most likely get a closer look of these noisy guys. Our safari drive takes us to Twee Rivieren where we leave the Park early afternoon.  What will we discover today? Everything that growls are welcome!
Afterwards we drive in the direction of Upington to Kalahari Guest Farm where we’ll set up camp under shady trees. Enjoy the last evening around the camp fire under the African skies.
Overnight stay: Camping Kalahari Guest Farm (fully equipped)
Meals: Full board

Day 12: After breakfast we break down camp and drive back to
Upington (about half an hour off).

Tour nur für AbenteurerTOUR 9: Enigmatic Kalahari

Are you looking for something special? Are you brave and “crazy” enough?  Similar to all other tours indicated in RED like tour 4 and 6, this tour is outstanding in all aspects!  It sets high standards to the equipment and vehicles not only to survive 11 days in the rugged wilderness of the Kalahari, but also still be enjoyed. Therefore this tour is only recommended for those committed to these expectations with heart and soul.

During this tour the brave at heart will experience the wilderness at its best as we mostly overnight in the wild. There is NO fence around the camp and limited water is available for personal consumption. This makes you realize that water is more precious than gold.  Toilets are also not available every where, implying that you have to dig your own “toilet” when nature calls. This tour leads us away from the usual and boring tread-out footpaths, giving you the opportunity to unwind and become one with nature.
