Day 6: After breakfast we visit the Castle which was built nearly 100 years ago by a German aristocrat for breeding horses in this area. Driving further south until we reach the small village of Aus on the edge of the Namib desert. On our way to Lüderitz we’ll visit the 'Namib wild horses' which are reminiscent from colonial times. We drive to the Atlantic coast where the small town of Lüderitz is nestled in a natural bay. Depending on your choice of accommodation, we either camp on the campgrounds of Shark Island or, if Chalet version is preferred, we will overnight in the Lighthouse on Shark Island which was renovated and now has a beautiful and fully equipped apartment.

Day 7: Staying at the romantic Shark Island from where you firstly have the OPTION to undertake a trip with a sailing boat along the coast to Halifax Island. You may have the pleasure of enjoying the company of dolphins, seals and penguins! After our sailing trip we drive to Kolmanskop, where we shall visit the ghost town of diamonds and then go on different 4x4 drives around Lüderitz Bay.
Overnight stay: Shark Island Lüderitz
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 8: Today we drive back through the desert via Aus and Goagab to the last highlight of this tour, the Fish River Canyon. In the evening we have a drink near the edge of the world’s second largest gorge and enjoy the sunset.
Overnight stay: Chalet at Canyon Mountain Lodge or camping at Canyon Roadhouse
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 9: Today we drive back to South Africa via Karasburg and Ariamsvlei (border post) and will arrive in Upington in the late afternoon.
Overnight stay: Double room in Upington
Meals: No meals included
Participants: minimum 2 people

Tour Program

Day 1: We leave Upington, fully equipped to Twee Rivieren, the entrance to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park.  We undertake our first safari drive inside the Park.
Overnight stay: Chalet version: Twee Rivieren camp or Camping version: Two Rivers  
Meals: Dinner

Day 2: We spend another day in South Africa's second biggest National Park, where you will find game such as, oryx, springbok, blue wildebeest and red hartebeest, which are seen very often. The park is well known for good sightings of the famous black maned Kalahari lions and cheetahs, and is a bird watcher's paradise with more than 20 larger raptor species.
Overnight stay: Chalet at Twee Rivieren Camp or camping at Two Rivers.
Meals: Full board

Day 3: After a last game drive in the Park up to Mata Mata, we cross the border into Namibia and continue driving to Mariental.
Overnight stay: Chalet River Lodge
Meals: Breakfast & lunch. Dinner NOT included.

Day 4: Today we drive via Maltahöhe to the edge of the oldest desert on earth, the Namib desert.
Overnight stay: Chalet or camping at Betesda Lodge
Meals: Dinner

Day 5: The early bird catches the worm. We leave the lodge before sunset to reach the highest dunes at Sossusvlei as early as possible. You are more than welcome to climb to the top of the dunes from where you will have a spectacular view over the ‘sand ocean’ of the Namib Desert. Driving back to Sesriem and paying a visit to the gorge of Sesriem Canyon, before we drive to Duwisib Castle.
Overnight stay: Chalet or camping Duwisib Castle
